Introducing Eastfield Park: Mecklenburg County’s first “adventure park.” Next year, Mecklenburg County will embark on constructing this brand-new park in Huntersville, and this project will be a game-changer for our community.  Eastfield Park will maintain the natural beauty we love while offering some fantastic new amenities. Let’s dive in to all that this new park will have to offer for Lake Norman residents.

Adventure Park Phase 1

Set to break ground in mid-2025, Eastfield Park will be developed in two phases. The first phase, covering 60 of the park’s 114 acres, is anticipated to open by fall 2026. The adventure park design is already underway, and here is what we have to look forward to:

  • Dog Park: A dedicated 1-acre space will feature separate areas for small and large dogs, complete with a small shelter.
  • Bike Trails: Perfect for cycling enthusiasts, these trails will weave through the park’s natural landscape.
  • Nature Playground: Kids will have a nature-inspired playground to explore and enjoy.
  • Picnic Areas: An outdoor picnic shelter will provide a great spot to relax and take in views of the lush tree canopy.
  • Multi-Use Path: This path along Eastfield Road will offer easy access to the park.
  • Restrooms and Parking: Essential amenities for convenience.

This park represents just one of many exciting developments in our area. With a total investment of $8.7 million for the master plan, design, permits, and Phase 1 construction, Eastfield Park is part of a larger effort by Park and Rec to enhance our community. Currently, there are eight parks under construction, eleven in various stages of design or permitting, and fourteen more parks funded for development in the next five years.
