Retail Phase of Antiquity in Cornelius Begins!
The wait is over! The retail phase of Antiquity in Cornelius has begun, this is a mixed-use development off Catawba Avenue and S. Main Street. The first retail tenants to begin building are a 56,000 square foot Harris Teeter, a Dunkin Donuts as well as other commercial buildings that will feature restaurants and shops. The retail shops in Antiquity arelong-awaitedby not only the homeowners livinginAntiquity Cornelius but other Cornelius residents looking for more options in shopping, dining and nightlife. Cornelius Mayor Chuck Travis has stated he hopes the town will use some of the funds from the voter-approved bond in 2013 for an arts center and outdoor amphitheater. Other retail tenants have yet to be announced but the developer hopes to include a high-end restaurant in the mix.
Retail is only part of the attraction of Antiquity Cornelius. Several Antiquity residentshave already built single family homes and town homes within walking distance to the future shops and restaurants.
