Fall Favorites Around Lake Norman
Fall has finally arrived and crisp air is just around the corner.
With the arrival of fall come many exciting and family friendly activities around town. Here are just a few fall favorites around Lake Norman. Grab your pumpkin spice lattes and start exploring.
- Rural Hill
If you like to get lost, this place is for you! Hopefully you can figure out the maze and put the puzzle pieces together. Don’t worry, they do provide hints along the way! Each year, a different maze is hand drawn and picked just for this time of year. The maze is located on a 265 acre farm that provides hiking, corn hole, soccer and mini-mazes too! Check the maze out for yourself and take the whole family along for the fun at Rural Hill.
- Fall Festival – October 6
Starting at 9am with a trail race and ending the day with Live Music starting at 7pm. Throughout the day they are offering different activities to enjoy your day at the White Water Center. Between the Yoga and Cider Sampling you can watch the build your own boat competition or join the competition. Along with these special events, they also have the normal actives available to enjoy with your family. Celebrate fall at the White Water Center this Saturday, October 6, 2018.
- Huntersville Fall Festival – October 13
The 6th Annual Huntersville Fall Festival is almost here! Celebrate fall with the community and check out all the fun. From children games & inflatables to craft booths and a pumpkin patch, there is something for everyone. Live entertainment will be at the festival all day, listen to the music while you hangout and make scarecrows. The festival will be held at Barnette Elementary School, 13659 Beatties Ford Road, Huntersville, on Saturday, October 13th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Movie in the Woods – October 13
Movie in the Woods is the perfect family event to get in the Halloween spirit. This event is featuring the movie, Hocus Pocus (Rated PG). The perfect Halloween movie to enjoy plus there will be a costume contest, food trucks and fire pits! Movie in the Woods is a definite Fall Favorite around Lake Norman. Don’t forget to bring chairs and blankets for the family.
- 3rd Annual Halloween Bash – October 27
Head to Primal Brewery on Saturday, October 27 and enjoy local beer with all your friends. There will be live music and fun for everyone. Don’t forget to wear your costume for your chance to win the costume contest at the end of the night.
- Carolina Renaissance Festival
If you are a fan of all things renaissance, the Carolina Renaissance Festival is for you. Travel back into time and check out the jousting on horseback and all the entertainment the Carolina Renaissance Festival has to offer. The festival is every Saturday and Sunday until November 18th, from 10am to 5:30pm.
- 45th Annual Carolina Balloon Fest
The Carolina Balloon Fest is the event of the season and one of the fall favorites around Lake Norman. It’s the opportunity to see hundreds of beautiful hot air balloons and maybe even take a hot air balloon ride. Mark your calendars for October 19-21, you don’t want to miss it! Be sure to get your tickets before they sell out. Children 12 & Under are free and do not require a ticket for the event.
- Windy Hill Orchard & Cider Mill
Windy Hill Orchard & Cider Mill is fun for the whole family. From picking apples in the orchard to hanging out and eating the delectable Apple Cider Donuts you don’t want to miss it! And don’t forget the hard cider for adults is a tasty treat. They do allow outside food but ask you to to not bring your own beverages so you can enjoy their apple cider & apple cider slush drinks. Be prepared to pay $5-7 per person to pick the apples. Hurry and get your fresh apples today!
