The first retail tenants to begin building are a 56,000 square foot Harris Teeter, a Dunkin Donuts as well as other commercial buildings that will feature restaurants and shops. Cornelius Mayor Chuck Travis has stated he hopes the town will use some of the funds from the voter-approved bond in 2013 for an arts center and outdoor amphitheater.
