Tips For Selling Your Charlotte NC Home During The Holidays

Tips For Selling Your Charlotte NC Home During The Holidays:

Buyers who are looking during the holiday season are serious buyers. January is a big transfer month for corporate companies so you have motivated consumers looking for homes.  Inventory is low as sellers come off the market for the holidays so your competition is sparse and you have serious buyers, sounds like a win/win to me!  Here are some tips for keeping your home on the market this holiday season.

Deck The Halls, But Don’t Go Crazy:

Make sure your home doesn’t look overcrowded with decorations; you want to make sure the flow of your home and room space looks open and inviting. Opt out of the LARGE Christmas decorations for the year. Keep your home tastefully decorated with the color scheme of your home; if you have blues in your home decorate with snowflakes and winter themes. If you have earthy tones in your home go for the forest, cranberry and gold look to compliment your colors.

Have A Warm And Inviting Home To Come Into:

Capitalize on the holiday season when your home is on the market. Have fresh cinnamon or nutmeg smells in your home. Leave out some holiday cookies or cider for your buyers; they will remember your home from the competition! Have some soft tunes playing and make sure the temperature is comfy in your home. If it is safe to do in your home, turn on your fireplace to leave an impression for your buyers that they can have a place to cozy up to in their new home.

Maintain Curb Appeal:

Just because your grass isn’t green doesn’t mean you shouldn’t maintain it when on the market. Make sure to pick up any leaves, debris and clutter on your lawn, clean those gutters too!  Evergreen trees or plants do great in winter months so you can keep them outside for some flair. Make sure to keep your exterior safe for buyers by scraping off any snow or ice on your sidewalks and steps and make sure your exterior lights are working and look nice. You can also have disposable booties outside the home so buyers can slip these on over there shoes as not to track snow or mud into your home.

Hire A Reliable Real Estate Agent:

You want to make sure your agent is working to market your home during the holiday season, remember there are motivated buyers out there.  Ask your real estate agent questions. How will you market my home, can I talk to some of your past clients, will you be around to take my calls this holiday season. These are important questions to ask your agent, you don’t want to be put on hold during the holiday season. REMEMBER, a HUGE tip for selling in any market is to make sure your home is priced to sell!  Please contact me if I can be of service getting you valuable information on your home and pricing this holiday season.
